Captain & Tennille were American recording artists whose primary success occurred in the 1970s. The husband-and-wife duo were "Captain" Daryl Dragon (August 27, 1942 – January 2, 2019) and Toni Tennille (born May 8, 1940). They have five albums certified gold or platinum and scored numerous hits on the US singles charts, the most enduring of which included "Love Will Keep Us Together", "Do That to Me One More Time", and "Muskrat Love". They hosted their own television variety series on ABC in 1976–77.

Though it is hard to beat Neil Sedaka's original from his The Hungry Years album, "Lonely Night (Angel Face)" was a smart move for the duo. They hit in February with this other tune from the pen of the guy who wrote their debut hit, and followed that up quickly in May with a unique and clever cover of the Smokey Robinson classic from 16 years before, "Shop Around. Smokey's debut hit number two while Daryl Dragon and Toni Tennille got to number four - lightning striking pretty much twice for "Shop Around. Muskrat Love" in October was unique.

Tracklist: 1. Song Of Joy, 2. Lonely Night (Angel Face), 3. Mind Your Love, 4. Smile For Me One More Time, 5. Shop Around, 6. Going Bananas, 7. Butterscotch Castle, 8. Muskrat Love, 9. Thank You Baby, 10. Wedding Song (There Is Love), 11. 1954 Boogie Blues. 2. Lonely Night (Angel Face).

These were "Lonely Night (Angel Face)," "Shop Around" and that little song about Suzie & Sam, "Muskrat Love. Rolling Flipper
Not quite as simpy and asinine as its cover would have you believe, it is nevertheless devoid of either good pop songs or originality. Going Bananas is pretty fun if you only have to hear it once, and manages to at least not be boring, unlike the rest of Side A. Side B has the distinction of being borderline offensive. Songs like Muskrat Love seem to be stolen from the African tradition, but the final track Boogie Woogie Blues or whatever has Tenille actually putting on an accent that makes her sound like shes mocking her black bellboy or something. I have no doubt the intentions were honest and genuine, to perhaps pay tribute to those great unappreciated musicians who had gone before, but did she have to do the funny voice?
