Who Killed Amanda Palmer is the first solo album by American musical artist Amanda Palmer. The album was largely recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, with collaborator Ben Folds and was released on Roadrunner Records (also home to The Dresden Dolls). The name of the album is a reference to the series Twin Peaks, which revolves around events surrounding the death of Laura Palmer. Certain tracks also featured Folds on percussion and keyboards and former Rasputina member Zoë Keating on cello.
Directed by Michael Pope Produced by BriAnna Olson & MediaVox.

Who Killed Amanda Palmer?" Fortunately, she's not actually dead. Not only is she alive and well, but she's producing some of the most unique music you can find in stores. The "Who Killed Amanda Palmer?" DVD is an excellent companion to her album of the same name - dark, playful, weird and rebellious, and full of cabaret punk attitude leading into "Guitar Hero," in which she revives the teens and ushers them into the world of rock. Another Year" is a languid morning-light affair following Palmer's art; "Oasis" is freakishly chipper in how it deals with rape and abortion; "Leeds United" follows a sleek nightclub act with a wild audience, dancers and soccr guys.

Part 2 of the "Who Killed Amanda Palmer" video series, the music video for "Astronaut". Directed by Michael Pope. Produced by BriAnna Olson & MediaVox. This is perhaps my favourite song on this album. Her vocals, music, and lyrics are all just so great. Traveling everywhere in a victorian carriage drawn by a train of mechanical steeds with giant bat wings does sound like the upkeep would become taxing after a while but other than that, no probably not. Having the earth shake under your very footsteps and shooting lightning from your fingertips probably makes up for that.
oh my god. at long, long last. this album has been years and years in the making. my first true love, jason curtis (we were together from the time i was 15 until about 18), was the main supplier of my early dots addiction. he’d already become obsessed and had a collection of at least 10 albums, and i taped all of those records onto blank cassettes that was 2007 or so, and the dresden dolls were at the peak of touring and chaos. there was no place to pencil in a side-project. after that last round of dolls touring, i broke off to make who killed amanda palmer, and my solo career engulfed me. edward and i would run into each other every few years at a show
Album · 2008 · 15 Songs. Many of the tracks from Who Killed Amanda Palmer have been set to video and although they don’t tell one cohesive story, they work together as separate pieces connected by threads of theme (misfits, obsession, death, sex & love). More than half the songs are spare, powerful ballads, while on other tracks Palmer’s furious piano attacks and bursts of staccato drums, keyboards, strings and occasional guitars are full of dark energy. Ben Folds is here as producer and collaborator, and the end product is evidence of two great minds coming together in spectacular, full color fireworks.
