It was during this time that the Membranes became part of Gerard Cosloy's stable of ultra-hip bands on his ultra-hip indie label Homestead. And while it would have been just like Cosloy for them to release their most incoherent record on Homestead, instead there appeared this tuneful, intense, funny record. In fact, this is the great Membranes record: chock-full of raging playing and surreal observations about life and politics

Released on 20 August 1996 through Earache Records, it is the band's first album to feature live drums, played by drummer Bryan Mantia, and a more traditional heavy metal sound, generally lacking the experimental and mechanical elements of previous releases. The cover is a photograph of Cancer Alley, Louisiana.

The Sound of Fury was the first album released by Billy Fury in 1960. Described as "the best rock & roll album to come out of England's original beat boom of the late 1950s". Fury was arguably the first British rock 'n roll artist to write his own songs, sometimes under the pseudonym Wilbur Wilberforce. The album was recorded in Decca Studio 3, West Hampstead, London, on 14 April 1960. It featured Joe Brown on guitar, Reg Guest on piano, and bassists Bill Stark or Alan Weighell
