The Mind's Eye is the first studio album by the band Stiltskin. The album was driven by the success of the single "Inside", which reached in the UK. The follow-up single "Footsteps" reached in the UK charts. All tracks written by Peter Lawlor. Peter Lawlor - acoustic & electric guitars, mandolin, bass guitar, Wurlitzer piano, Hammond organ, drums, backing vocals. James Finnigan - bass, Hammond organ, Wurlitzer piano. Ross McFarlane - drums, percussion.

DJ and Producer from Rotterdam, René Amesz started approaching to electronic sounds when he was very young and he used to collect vinyls. His characteristic was a unique approach towards sounds, all based on phat beats and sick grooves. His great talent resulted in the soon releases with Little Mountain Recordings, Flamingo, Rising, La Factoria, Nu Republic, Extrema and his own imprint 25 Hertz.

Today it’s inconceivable that a jazz song could be released as a single and somehow find its way to the Top 40. For one thing, jazz is almost entirely an album-oriented genre, and for another, it just doesn’t sell in large quantities to the mainstream audience. One recent exception is Herbie Hancock’s album River: The Joni Letters, which reached in Billboard in 2008 after winning the Album of the Year Grammy, but it’s definitely an exception to the rule. Beginning in the 1920s he had revolutionized American music and become the first true star of the jazz genre. He was arguably way past his prime as a player and as a trendsetter but that didn’t mean he was ready to lay down his trumpet. So when, in December 1963, he was asked to make a demo recording of the title song from a new musical, Hello Dolly, he obliged.

Smooth jazz is all well and good but if you want to hear Washington bring the heat, Dinah Jams (1955) is the album for you. Recorded in the summer of ’54, Dinah Jams sees Washington performing in front of a live studio audience in Los Angeles with a fantastic group of musicians including Clifford Brown (trumpet), Clark Terry (trumpet), and Max Roach (drums), among others. It’s hard to imagine John Coltrane as a supportive accompanist to a singer and that’s because there’s really only one album on which he collaborated with one, John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman (1963).

The jazz albums listed below are among the greatest ever recorded. Mostly selected from the golden "modern" jazz music era of 1940's to the 1970's, these recordings captured the great passion and emotion that these musicians spent a lifetime developing. Kind Of Blue - Miles Davis While it is one of the top selling jazz albums of all time, many consider this to be THE best jazz album of all time. That's how Miles liked to do it, he made sure the music was spontaneous and in the moment. This album also marked a departure from the traditional bebop style with songs that are simple melodies over simple chord progressions leaving room for the deep improvisational exploration. What a treat it is to listen to time and time again. A Love Supreme - John Coltrane This album completely revolutionized the jazz scene in 1965 and even today its influence can be found in many musical styles.

Schaap bemoaned the loss of authoritative discographies and the troubles of the digital age, particularly the loss of informative aids like liner notes and booklets. Fats Waller, Handful of Keys (Proper, 2004; tracks recorded 1922-43).
