Music Is The Rod by Garnet Silk.
Garnet Silk, born Garnet Damion Smith in Bromelia, in the parish of Manchester, Jamaica, on the second day of April 1966, became one of reggae’s most promising cultural artists from the moment this singer turned deejay made a serious impact with his debut album It’s Growing and his first major hit Hello Africa. At a very young age – when he was still in elementary school – Garnet dreamed of becoming an entertainer. The release of the Steely & Clevie produced album Love Is The Answer featuring the 1990 recordings and single releases like Harder, Complaint and Fight Back, a combination tune with good friend Richie Stephens, soon put Garnet Silk back on the international Reggae charts. His triumphant return was highlighted at Jamaica’s two premier international festivals in the summer of 1994.
Garnett Silk (born Garnet Damion Smith; 2 April 1966 – 9 December 1994), was a Jamaican reggae musician and Rastafarian, known for his diverse, emotive, powerful and smooth voice. During the early 1990s he was hailed as a rising talent, however his career was ended by his early death in 1994, while attempting to save his mother from her burning house. Smith was born in Manchester, Jamaica. His musical career began at the age of twelve, when he performed under the name Little Bimbo
Lyrics to 'The Rod' by Garnett Silk, Music is the rod and we are Moses. Music is the rod and we are Moses Leading God's Children to the Promised Land Music is the voice of his brother Aaron Preaching and comforting at the Father's command We have the power, to turn things around It's for us to stand up, when we fall to the ground I say this with a smile, pause for a while, Lord Listen my son, the Prophets have come Music is the rod and we are Moses Leading God's Children to the Promised Land Music is the voice of his brother Aaron Preaching and comforting at the Father's command No use in trying to, compromise the Truth Our eyes are open,.
